Client Background
A large online business directory serving Egypt and Turkey, with hundreds of thousands of business listings across the platform.
Challenge
Search engines had significantly reduced the number of indexed pages, resulting in a substantial decline in organic visibility and website traffic. The scale of the directory made the problem particularly important because reduced indexing affected the discoverability of a large portion of its business listings.
Approach
A comprehensive review examined the technical and structural factors affecting search visibility, including duplicate content, indexing errors, pagination and site architecture.
The platform was reorganised to improve crawlability, strengthen page relevance and ensure individual directory pages had a clear and useful purpose for both users and search engines.
Results
- Increased indexed pages from approximately 20,000 to nearly 300,000 within three months
- Significant increase in organic website traffic
- Improved search visibility across the directory
Business Impact
Restoring the platform’s underlying search visibility recovered a substantial portion of its digital presence and increased opportunities for users to discover listed businesses. More importantly, it established a stronger technical foundation for the directory to maintain visibility as it continued to grow.
